Our quest as fashionistas is to search, practice and revel in our religion – Fashion! This autumn is different from the last hence there must be a few trends which should be shed.
So what are the colours of the season? Connoisseurs are on, bring out the Burgundy, Bordeaux, deep purple and aubergine; out are the grays.
Outfits – Lowrider/waisted jeans and undies-peeking is uncool; highwaisted dresses, skirts and pants are!
Plisse folds of different colours elegant with volume and flow the way only sheers can is in – tight reveal alls are out.
Jackets – cropped and ¾ sleeve are in; denim jackets are out. Afghans to Zebra Stripes are in. Formal occasions call for sharpy cut dinner jackets.
Evening wear – strapless and one shouldered tops and dresses are in; jeans and tops of all kinds are out. But you could glam up with pretty elegant harem pants.
Shoes – fetish shoes with extremely high heels are in, wedges are a no-no. Gladiators are still in but in GOLD!
Woollies – Cardigans in pastels, mauves, earthies, greens, woven into various designs are in and Twin Sets are out.
For parties – the lacy, sheer black is in, the quick and easy gold, silver, bronzes are passé.
Head gears – the knitted hats covering the ears, complementing the outfit are in; the hood cardigans, sweaters and jackets have passed.
The look – the layered dressing with emphasis on the shoulders is here; what’s not is the simple and elegant silhouette.
Stockings are big this winter – in Bordeaux, orange, ochre, printed colourful, white, nudes. Styles could be hold-up stockings, fishnet, sheers and thick cable knit tights or simple black ones, plain or self designed.
Bags – reptilian skin, chapped, fringed clutches, ethnics are out, book bags are in.
Enjoy!
